In the End

Poem

In the End

Though in the end
we may pass
through fire and ash
and all that be left
are little sparks
ascending like stars
from dying embers we flee
may we anchor to heavens
or fade into the abyss
God forbid
so why then we waste
so many a days
worrying of earthly things
for none may matter
in the end

Prayer

“Lord, grant me courage to remember, with every step I lay, my eternal destiny follows like shadows. Keep me heavenly-minded, be my rudder, and steer me from evil, until the day You call me home, to join Your kingdom.” Amen.

Scripture

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you…” Colossians 3:1-17 (ESV)
